Violet Town- Bald Archy Exhibition - Wednesday 21st October 2026

The destination for October's mid-week run is Violet Town, where we will be visiting the Bald
Archy Prize exhibition in the Violet Town Community Hall, featuring over 40 paintings. The Bald
Archy competition is described as Australia's most irreverent portrait award celebrating wit and
satire, featuring comic and caricature style portraits of well-known public figures in politics,
sport and entertainment.
Please note, there is an $8 per person entry fee.

For any members wishing to travel in convoy we will depart from the clubrooms at 9.15 am. We
are expected at Jackson's Cafe next to the Ellen Francis Hotel for morning tea.
Following the viewing of the exhibition the plan is to have a light lunch, also at Jackson's. The
cafe serves a large selection of toasted sandwiches, focaccias, gourmet pies and croissants,
with gluten free and vegan options. Beer and wine also available.
Should that many members turn up that we just overwhelm Jackson's the cafe over the road also
does focaccias and excellent steak sandwiches, among a list of other items.
You may wish to take your own food and drinks but there is very limited public seating in the
town.
